He is used to working in multi-disciplinary and multi-cultural teams and has extensive experience in project and programme formulation processes, appraisals, and reviews. His experience comprises assignments as advisor in developing country public authority and he is experienced in authority-authority twinning and other innovative forms of development cooperation.

Jens believes strongly in multi-faceted and cross-sectoral solutions to development challenges and opportunities, for instance working across the rural-urban divide, along value chains, across sectors in nexus approaches (e.g. energy-water-food security), in climate change mitigation as well as adaptation, and in capacity development solutions with focus on institutional as well as individual learning and development. He also supports the “doing development differently” approach, including working actively to facilitate better synergy and coordination between many different development actors, and he has comprehensive experience with a wide range of multilateral development institutions in the international climate and energy architecture, as well as with many bilateral and philanthropic donors.
